Creating a whimsical birds'-eye view is quite a challenge. It added another dimension to meet the requirements of a client. Steve needed the painting to provide a sense of the overall layout of the T'ai Li Resort, and how various cabins and tent platforms are snugged away in spectacular but private settings. Clear trails were also very important so that guests could locate and find their way between various components. Kayaking, sailing, swimming, hiking, fishing, yoga retreats and relaxing are there too. Look closely for deer (can you find the sleeping fawn?), eagle, white-sided porpoise, harbour seal and sea lion who inhabit this land and sea. Note that vehicles are parked well away from the main part of the resort to maintain the peace and tranquility of the wilderness. Prints and greeting cards of this image will be available at the resort in and upcoming season. Commissions for similiar whimsical, wayfinding or historical images happily considered. |
