Shell Rattles start with a walk to the beach to collect the shells

A live moon snail. Live sea life is always left to the sea..., only empty moon snail, oyster and clam shells are selected.

The empty shells are washed and lightly sanded to bring out the natural colors

Shell rattle production includes preparing hides, cutting hide for thongs, cutting and stitching the hide covering, painting images and attaching gems and beads

Final step..., the rattle tag which identifies the type of hide and gem with a message about the energy they bring to the rattle.

Jodi calls her shell rattles Moon Rattles in honor of the sea shell that most represents her work.
