Our Shell Rattle Collection

A wonderful souvenir, musical instrument, special occasion gift, or to acknowledge a friend.
Every shell rattle is unique in form, sound and hand-written message. Some rattles are painted with
intuitive images. Sound filling - Cortes Island beach pebbles. Blessings.

1.
Shell Rattles start with a walk to the beach to collect the shells
|
2.
A live moon snail. Live sea life is always left to the sea..., only empty moon snail, oyster and clam shells are selected.
|
3.
The empty shells are washed and lightly sanded to bring out the natural colors
|
|
4.
Shell rattle production includes preparing hides, cutting hide for thongs, cutting and stitching the hide covering, painting images and attaching gems and beads
|
5.
Final step..., the rattle tag which identifies the type of hide and gem with a message about the energy they bring to the rattle.

6.
Jodi calls her shell rattles Moon Rattles in honor of the sea shell that most represents her work.
