The adventure of getting here.
Cortes Island is on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada, about 160 kilometres (100 miles) north of Vancouver. Cortes is one of the Discovery Islands, right in the middle where Georgia Strait meets with narrow Johnstone Strait. The cooler waters of the north mingle with the warmer waters of the south, providing a haven for a rich and abundant sea life. It's a magical place for wildlife and people! To add to the beauty and the wonder, Cortes Island is nestled between the mountains of Vancouver Island and the Coast Mountain Range of the mainland.
Access Cortes Island by air, road and water, and a variety of travel services. Choose what suits your budget and appetite for adventure and how much time you want to spend travelling. Please allow extra time during peak summer months.
