This whimsical view of Squirrel Cove on Cortes Island was inspired by the fun I had doing "Whaletown Whimsy." It's an interesting challenge to create a new perspective of a familiar place. Squirrel Cove actually includes a large shoreline area and specifically refers to a popular cove for boaters. But the year round action is at the government dock and general store. This view is whimsical in many respects. I've played fast and loose with scale, spatial relationships, and human activities, but everything is here...the general store, craft shop, restaurant and complete with the usual collection of local boats and exotic yachts. It's clearly Squirrel Cove!
