Another view of my new pal, a copper rock fish, in an ocean aquarium at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre (BMSC) on the outside coast of Vancouver Island. This fish had it's favored place and would return to this patch of seaweed, even backing into the exact same position whenever it returned from foraging. I will be doing a larger watercolour related to this image for a show called "Oceans of Art" at the Nanaimo Art Gallery, Nanaimo BC, June 11 - 29, 2009.
The show is a fundraiser for the Marine Station, School Education Program.
