"Ascension" Bluffs like these have spoken to my heart since I first explored the Northern Gulf Islands. Their appeal has a lot to do with their primordial quality. It is on these and similar bluffs that ancient trees, shrubs, wildlife and birds have lived their lives undisturbed by us for the most part. Until the recent generation of wealthy urbanites sought out the isolated areas of the coast no self-respecting islander would build on them, too hard, too exposed. On these bluffs there are original inhabitants and I love the bluffs for protecting these treasures.
