After not seeing a certain painting for awhile I'm sometimes quite overcome when I fall into what I've done, what has caught my attention, what I've spent time with. It's like returning to an old friend, and I do feel that these paintings are friends, and images of friends. Having spent time among them, they feel as close as any friend and I note their changes, growth and aging with concern. How gratifying to give them my full attention for an hour or two in the initial observation. My attention is returned so fully, with a marvelous gift of revealing. The longer I sit, the more I see, the more I see, the more there is to see.
