This is one of those paintings that took awhile to gel. In exploring the bluff along Cortes Island's K'wass Lake I found this big, strong rock face with a stalwart fir. I liked the contrast between the solid mass of the rock and the busier shapes and rythym of the tree. After I finished it, I didn't feel it did what I wanted. When an artist friend said my work is "like a magic window", I decided to add some colored panes. watercolor on watercolor paper Greeting Cards and Prints available Contact: Manzanita Muse Studio |
